Many bands that are starting out, need to promote themselves in order to get gigs but they have no
way of showing off their talents to the venue owners other than playing them a studio recording of
their songs. I have devised a way to make a really cheap basic music video. I make no bones about
it, there are lots of restrictions on what the video will be: miming to a song and all one location.
You provide the location, the costumes, any choreography, any lighting and the song plus a device
to play it on. I will provide myself, a camera and a tripod. The end result will not be all that original
BUT it will have energy and look like it is professionally filmed. It will give the venues an idea of
what you look like when you perform and is much more interesting to watch on You Tube than
simply a photo of album art or some band shots.
